Director Series: Directing Asia: Insights into Asian Cinema

导演系列: 创亚洲之风―对亚洲电影的深入思考

The invitation of prominent Asian directors to spearhead discussions on issues like Asian culture hegemony, Asian issues and concerns reveals the main format of the Directing Asia series. The series is meant to engage patrons at the library in knowledge exchange and provocation delivered through a very populist medium. The sessions also add an Asian perspective to global issues and concerns that is lacking today.

Through films, it is hoped that the participants will be introduced to the topics and themes behind each story and to be encouraged to explore the rich traditions, knowledge and perspective of their own heritage.
