絮絮是新加坡早期优秀的作家、诗人和教育工作者。
絮絮原名丘若琛，笔名有絮絮、重阳、哈莱等。他于1909年出生于福建龙岩市，1967年2月16日逝世。
1920年代末期，絮絮毕业于上海艺术大学文学系。
1936年，絮絮南来新加坡后，先受聘于中正中学，后来到砂劳越和马来亚各地担任中小学教师或校长等职务。1952年，他受聘于新加坡华侨中学，直至1967年离世。
絮絮在19岁时就在中国岀版诗集《昨夜》，后来又出版另一本诗集《骆驼》。这是当时少数年纪轻轻就有两本作品集出版的年青作家。
1952至1954年间，絮絮主编《南洋教育》半月刊。1953年，他主编由星华中学教师会岀版的《南洋青年》半月刊。这本半月刊成为当时中学生最喜欢的读物之一。
絮絮的文学创作很丰富，在1950年至1960年间最为多产。出版的著作有小说集《荣归》、《学府风光》、《在大时代中》、《沉滓的浮起》、《大时代中的插曲》、《房东太太》、《变》；中篇小说《播种者》及诗集《生之歌》、《呼吁》等。这些作品都引起了读者很好的反响。
絮絮的小说题材十分广泛，取材于新马本地的生活。因此他的作品，对于研究1930年代新马华人社会的风俗民情，有着一定的学术和历史价值。由于他长时间从事教育工作，所以他的大多数作品，还是以写教育问题最精彩，是研究南洋教育问题的珍贵资料，因此，他也被很多人称之为教育小说作家。
Xu Xu was a poet, novelist and educator in early Singapore.
Xu Xu's real name is Chiu Shi Shi. He was born in Fujian, China in 1909. He graduated with majors in literature from the Shanghai Arts University in the 1920s.
He arrived in Singapore in 1936 and was employed by Chung Cheng Secondary School. Then he took up various positions as teacher and school principal in Sarawak and other places in Malaya. He returned to teach in Singapore’s Chinese High in 1952 until he passed away in 1967.
He was editor for various educational newsletters between 1952 and 1954. These newsletters were quite popular with the students at that time.
Xu Xu wrote many popular novels and stories between 1950 and 1960. The subjects of his novels were mostly about life in Singapore and Malaysia. His earlier works are invaluable for scholars interested in doing research on the lifestyle of Malayan Chinese in the 1930s.
Xuxu passed away in 1967.
